The primary purpose of the Board is to see that the school operates in the best interest of its students, parents and teachers. The board establishes the purpose and policy of the school, ensures its financial stability , plans for its future, and hires the Executive Director. The Executive Director, Anne Colley, handles the day-to-day operation of the school. The Board recently developed a three year strategic plan which ensures the continuing progress of the school.

The Board usually meets every month during the school year. A new class of Board Members is elected each spring to serve a three year term. While often members are parents of students, they are not required to be so.

The work of the Board is accomplished in committees.  The committees research issues and present the full board with recommendations for action. With the exception of the executive committee, committee membership is open to any person who has an interest in serving.

Executive Committee is composed of the elected officers of the Board and acts for the full board between board meetings.

The Finance Committee is responsible for making recommendations to the Board regarding the financial management of the school including investment policy and the annual budget.

Building and Grounds committee advises and assists the staff in issues regarding beautification, maintenance and safety of building, equipment and grounds.

The Outreach/Marketing Committee strengthens the school’s outreach and communication to parents and to the broader community, helping the school to remain a diverse community.

The Development committee develops and implements fundraising goals and campaigns and establishes contact with alumni families.

Personnel Committee researches salary and benefits for our faculty and staff and develops a review for administrative personnel.

Nomination Committee seeks candidates for the board whose skills, experience and enthusiasm match the current needs.
